Symbiosis National Aptitude Test (SNAP)

What is SNAP

The Symbiosis National Aptitude Test (SNAP) is a national-level entrance exam for MBA conducted by Symbiosis International University (SIU). It is the mandatory gateway for admission to the 16 Symbiosis institutes offering postgraduate management programs. The SNAP is conducted for the month of December/January. Since the year 2020, it is being organized in three different slots, offering candidates the flexibility to appear up to three times, with the best score being considered for admission. It is reported that more than 60,000 candidates appear for SNAP each year.

Unlike exams that test deep conceptual knowledge, SNAP is considered easier than other popular entrance tests like CAT/XAT. It is primarily a speed-based test that measures a candidate’s time-management and decision-making skills. With 60 questions to be answered in just 60 minutes, the key to success is quick thinking and a high accuracy rate. SNAP has been taking place in online mode at test centers since 2017. The exam is conducted at 90+ centers around the country.

Syllabus Overview SNAP 2025

  •  General English: As presented in the table above, the English section of SNAP mainly assesses Reading Comprehension, Verbal Reasoning, and other Verbal Ability topics. Typically, there are two RC passages on the SNAP, with mostly direct questions. The passages are current event or business-related topics. The rest of the topics in this section primarily test your vocabulary and grammar knowledge.
  • Analytical & Logical Reasoning: This section features questions that test a candidate’s analytical and problem-solving abilities. These questions typical come from common reasoning topics, such as arrangements, syllogisms, analogies, coding-decoding, etc., and from visual reasoning or critical reasoning.
  • Quantitative Ability: In this section of the test, several basic domains of mathematics are represented. It covers some of the more commonly-read domains of mathematics, including skills of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, interpreting data, and data sufficiency. This provided context assists one in developing a more holistic understanding of mathematical domains and problem solving skills. Therefore, by exploring these domains of core knowledge, learners will have the chance to synthesize their core knowledge and to develop their comfort for solving mathematical problems.
