ICFAI Business School Aptitude Test (IBSAT)
What is IBSAT?
IBSAT is an annual national level entrance exam conducted for admissions to MBA/PGPM/Ph.D. Programs at the nine campuses of ICFAI. As the proprietary examination for the ICFAI Business School (IBS), it is the primary pathway for securing admission to one of India’s largest and most geographically diverse networks of B-schools. The exam is held in over 80 cities in India.
The exam has been held in computer-based test (CBT) mode since 2020. This includes remote-proctored modes, offering candidates significant flexibility. The exam is conducted by The ICFAI Foundation For Higher Education, which is a Deemed-to-be University under Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956. As one of India’s eminent multidisciplinary educational institutions, ICFAI provides globally-recognized programs, ensuring that the IBSAT serves as a standardized and credible measure of aptitude for its highly sought-after management courses.

IBSAT Eligibility Criteria 2025
Completion of graduation in any discipline with minimum 50% marks.
Students in the final semester of graduation may also apply, subject to completing their degree by the specified date.
A minimum of 15 years of formal education (10+2+3 or 10+2+4 pattern) is required.
The medium of instruction at the undergraduate level must be English. Otherwise, candidates must submit TOEFL/IELTS scores.
For the Ph.D. program, an additional two-year full-time Post Graduation in Management or a professional qualification like CA/ICWA with 60% marks is required.

IBSAT Exam Pattern 2025
IBSAT is an objective test, comprising four key areas, which primarily assess the aptitude skills of students. The exam pattern and marking scheme for IBSAT have not changed over the years. It is a two-hour exam that consists of a total of 140 questions, and is shown in table format below for IBSAT 2026:

As demonstrated above, the NMAT is composed of three major components that are relevant to students’ intent to pursue management studies. It is a critical exam for students who are looking to receive an MBA in India or overseas. The scoring system and structure is uniform every year.

- Verbal Ability: Includes Analogies, Contextual usage, Para jumble, Punctuation, Synonyms and Antonyms, Error Spotting, and Vocabulary usage.
- Reading Comprehension: Consists of passages of varying lengths followed by direct and inferential questions.
- Quantitative Ability: Includes topics from Algebra and Geometry, HCF and LCM, Percentage, Profit and Loss, Time-Speed-Distance, Averages, and other Arithmetic concepts.
- Data Adequacy & Data Interpretation: Includes sets based on Bar graphs, column graphs, pie charts, tables, and line charts. Data Adequacy questions test the sufficiency of the given data to answer a question.

Registration Process IBSAT 2025
Online Registration
- Visit the official website,
- Click “Apply to IBS” button.
- Fill in all details then pay the application fee of Rs.1800 through Debit Card/Credit Card or Net Banking. The hard copy of IBSAT Bulletin reaches you within a week.
- A successful transaction will generate an email to the candidates with an application number and password.
- You need to login with the credentials to fill out the IBSAT application form 2025. Before you fill out the application form, candidates are required to change the password.
Offline Registration
- You may purchase the IBSAT application form 2025 from any of the IBS Marketing Branches by paying the application fee of Rs. 1800.
- The IBSAT form consists of a scratch card with the application number and password on it.
- Then, go back to the official website and login with the credentials to fill out the IBSAT 2025 application form. The candidates are required to change the password before they fill out the application form.
